Meet Carla, the owner of Texas Ruff House.

Carla runs the operations of the business, including daycare and boarding, staff training and assignment coordination, and all marketing activities. Before opening the business in 2015, Carla had a professional career in education, and has applied her knowledge from the field to the pet care world. 

 

Carla aims to provide a loving home-away-from-home for your dog through the boarding program and runs daycare like a school! The dogs have organized centers and allocated times for each activity on rotation, including playtime, nap time, and outdoor recess. Carla’s own pup, Conan, who is an adopted mixed-breed dog at the age of about 8 or 9 years old, works alongside her as a puppy trainer and to help integrate dogs from single-dog households. Carla says that the best part about running the business is being able to support new dog owners or pet parents going through challenges, as she has developed many tricks of the trade after seeing a lot of behavior and health issues through her experiences of caring for over 1,000 dogs annually for seven years now in Austin, TX.

Whether you have a dog, cat, bird, fish, ferret, or reptile, they have cared for them all! Individually, each member of the Texas Ruff House family brings a wealth of personal and professional knowledge in pet care. The variety of personalities and energies among our sitters allows us to match pets accordingly, whether one responds better to soft or high energy. Many of our team members have medical backgrounds and are highly skilled in delivering medical care to special needs animals. This powerful combination of expertise and experience enables us to customize all care according to your pet's needs and routines.

 

Brianah, also known as Bri, joined the Texas Ruff House family in 2019 and has been around animals her entire life. Besides dog walking and doing in-your-home pet care for our clients, Bri works as a part-time Certified Nursing Assistant. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Gina has been with the team since 2018 and is a former Veterinary-Technician. She services our clients through dog walking, in-your-home pet care, and overnight sitting; Gina also volunteers weekly with the Austin Animal Center. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Joaquin joined us in 2019, and while he is newer to professional pet care, he has always been around dogs. When he is not dog walking and doing in-your-home pet care, Joaquin is pursuing his college degree in Business Administration.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Kathy has been with the Texas Ruff House family since 2019 and has always had fuzzy, furry, scaly, or feathery animals in her home. She does dog walking and in-your-home pet care for our clients and otherwise works as a Registered Nurse for over 30 years now. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Last but not least is Sasha, who came to us in 2019 and has been a professional pet-sitter since before moving from Belarus to the U.S. in 2014. You will find Sasha very busy dog walking or doing overnight sitting, and she loves to lead a very active lifestyle, even in her spare time!
